This sucks! Ive been buying crabs from Rauls since he opened the business 18 years ago. Raul taught me to cook shrimp and grits fresh on the shrimp boat when he worked for my stepfather 30 years ago. It was good to see his wife Kimberly carry on the business after his passing several years ago. Now, the new property owner will not renew their lease. Just another Mt p local business disappearing off the face of Shem Creek.

It does blow. The worst thing about it is that the landlord does not even know what the spot will be used for. The article said they might use it for an office for a charter business. I am guessing they are trying to jack Rauls rent to some unreasonable amount. I hope they dont find anyone willing to pay what they want. Kharma should bite them in the ass.
It makes those 5lbs of stone crab claws I got from Rauls two weeks ago taste even better!
When are they closin? Very bad news. I am from upstate and a trip to Raul’s is a necessity on every trip down. I guess the next thing is having to buy a time share for table space at Red’s.
I believe they are done at end of this month!
Was up Shem Creek this weekend. Not like it was when I was a kid in the early 70’s.Certainly has become a mecca to tourism. Raul’s is like the last bastion of what Shem Creek was back then. Lost another to “progress”
