Raymarine Fishfinder

Have Raymarine E120 display with DSM300 sounder and transom mount transducer. Transducer is mounted center of hull between engines. At any speeed over idle, or even at idle sometimes, the display shows random readings. At what speed should the fishfinder work accurately?
Thanks

My A65 is mounted just left of the drain plug and works to around 35mph. Look to make sure there isn’t a water pickup or something else that could cause turbulence in front of the transducer. I wonder if you have some kind of interference? How about another sonar unit?

I have A65 with same transducer mounted the same way. Sometimes the transducer can get knocked out of the locked position. Press down on transducer and you should feel it lock into place. It is designed to do this so the transducer is not ripped off boat. Mine does the same thing from time to time. Hope this helps.

Headstrong fishing [Lewis West] is an electronics genious and very inexpensive compared to others in that business.

UT VOLS13,
I didn’t think about the transducer popping up. Mine is brand new and every time I hit a good wave and the boat comes out of the water it knocks the transducer up. Then it will only read at an idle. I got aggravated the other day and put a screw in the release.
