re-terminating panel

Hi -

My wire is in good shape - I am thinking about replacing some switches and re-terminating all of my connections and jumpers some rainy day. Anyone have a good supplier for rocker switches + heat shrink terminal connections?

mhebbard - try West Marine on Savannah Hwy. Good selection of both and if not in stock can probably get it quickly.

No, way too pricey at WM. And not a good selection. These folks are great, quality, price and service is all first class. http://www.genuinedealz.com/

X2 on WM being pricey…however they will price match brick building stores within 2 miles, but sometimes that doesn’t even help. If you’re a local Charlestonian, try Charleston Marine on Rivers Ave! Chris and his staff know their stuff and if they don’t have what you need on hand they can usually get it in a day or 2 and his prices on rocker swithces alone are reason enough to shop there! Hope this helps!

I second Genuine Dealz. I recently installed a few hundred dollars worth of electrical supplies ordered from them.

Also, just another heads up. I have this from WM, bought it when in a rush:
http://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-marine--wiring-connector-kit-heat-shrink-set--11959608
and have used about 4-5 packs, eaach, of these from Harbor Freight:

http://www.harborfreight.com/30-pack-watertight-heat-shrink-butt-connectors-66729.html
http://www.harborfreight.com/127-piece-heat-shrink-tubing-set-67524.html

Honestly, I have closely inspected both and can tell no difference whatsoever. Have consolidated to one box and can’t tell which were from HF and which were from WM. I have used over a hundred of the HF ones between two different boats and had/have yet to have any problems. I also use heat shrink tubing over the heat shrink terminals. I really do believe they are from the same manufacturer in different packages and labels.

Are they Anchor quality? No, but they have been working fine for me. All that said to point out that because you’re spending more at WM doesn’t mean you’re getting better quality.

if you are local we stock all those items and if we don’t have something, we can get it the next day

I got some of those hazard fraught heatsink but

Genuine dealz is the ticket. They also have a nice calculator on their site.
