Real man heroes

Today is the day that we should remember and honor some of the most badass men ever walked the face of this Earth.

So sad I seen nothing on the news about it this morning.
Just in case y’all forgot we honor the heroes of D-Day today

Thanks for bringing this up OTC!

The History Channel had a really good documentary on D Day. The Heroes that made our Country so strong!!

Eisenhower told the troops: “You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you.”

I misspoke earlier I said toughest men yes they were men in mind and Spirit .
But in reality (age) it was a bunch of boys

They may have left as boys, but the ones that lived sure became Men!!! The pic you posted remined me of the editorial by the history channel. They have converted many photos and video to color. Neat technology.

My grandfather left out of Pearl Harbor just days after the attack and headed to Hiroshima. They were also there for the aftermath of the bomb. Imagine what that generation of men saw and did and lived through and somehow lived normally after. Had shrapnel in his back and shoulders from japanese planes crashing into his ship up until the day he died…and never spoke of it. My uncle would see him picking at his arms with a pocket knife as a boy, working out little fragments of metal that worked their way to the surface of his skin over the years. It wasn’t until years later that my uncle found out that’s what he was doing.

They were indeed the greatest generation and paid the greatest sacrifice.
