We left Remleys at 5:45 and had planned on running to the outcrop area but made a last minute change in plans and decided to run South to the 470 line and 200’ of water. Awesome ride out and had lines in at 7:45. We trolled out to 350’ and had heavy scattered weeds everywhere. Since there was only two of us on board clearing weeds got old quick. Worked a little North and found a loose weed line in 330’ that was being worked by a couple of sporties and 3 or so center consoles. We picked up a dolphin there but clearing weeds was endless. While the sea were flat and the winds clam most of the day, the wind and seas picked up to 3’ to 4’ while we worked this weed line. We worked North and back towards the ledge and found lots of bait and picked up two more dolphin (both released, one intentionally and one not). Then the cudas moved in, lost count of how many we caught, we could not keep the spread in the water very long before we had a cuda on. We finished the day in 160’ and had a wahoo crash a squid line and bite it in half, we quickly repaired the squid chain and picked up a Wahoo on it 10 minutes later. We pulled lines at 3:15 and had a great ride in. Every fish including the wahoo, were caught on the flat lines with in-line squid chains.

N 2 Deep,
We tried to raise you early to let you know we changed our plans and tried you a few times during the day but could not raise you. I heard your call late in the day but we had a wahoo on when you called. How did you do?

No problem, I figured you were either to busy with two guys on board to talk or you were out of range. We were worried about you because we heard a CG report when we were about 15 miles out of a boat about your size stranded at the south jetty. I guess it was not you. We ran straight out found a weed patch in 300ft and it was on. Daymakers were ~25lb Mahi, ~40lb Wahoo, 5 ft shark on the fly rod, and several AJS while bottome dropping largest was 40-50lb AJ. We also had 40-50 porpus swarm our boat and were free jumping over 8 ft out of the water while we were high speed trolling. I decided to jump in a take a swim with them. I got some awesome underwater pictures of this event.
