I’m new to the site actually just found it several days ago. I used to fish Lake Norman all the time but since the fish kill two summers ago the fishing has really struggled so a friend and I decided we would head down and give murray a try. I’ve read through all of the recent post and it seems like most of the activity is around midlake. This will be my 4th trip to the lake, but all of my other trips have been further up the rivers. Are there still fish up the rivers or would I be better served to fish around Dreher Island, shull pt., bomb island etc.? My plan is to free line and pb baits early on points then anchor later in the day. Thanks for any help. I will post a report to let you guys know how we did.
Welcome to the site. The fish are pretty much scattered all over the lake. Take a look at the Midlands Striper Club site further down in the club section. Plenty of good info there and a pic of one hell of a nice striper caught by one of the local guides.
I took my son bream fishing saturday up in the little saluda and guys were still getting some fish up there but not like it was a month ago. I’ve been catching fish from Shull to the dam the last two trips. They are still schooling pretty good, so keep your eyes open.
