Use 8 batteries in my yak FF/GPS. Have seen an add for a charger that claims it overcomes the heating problem that prohibits recharging disposables. Add claims you can get 8-10 charges out of 1 set of disposables.
Anyone have one?

Hmm, that still seems pricey compared to regular rechargables?

Which brand rechargables you buying?
I’ve been disappointed how well my rechargables continue to take and hold a charge. I wonder if their life shortens in the hot, salt-air environment of the yak. The battery pack stays bagged, but still there’s salt moisture around.
I got my alarm battery, 5 amp hours and I have used it so far on 3 trips and it’s still charged up… $15 beats the hell outa messing with AA’s and such… I am tellin ya… go to Batteries Plus and get one of those arlarm batteries… they are sealed and willnot leak, are designed to last a while and are small and don’t weigh very much… Best $15 I have spent in a while…

Got a link Nikon?

Do you just have it hanging in a dry bag? And those are rechargable right? (curious if you’re experiencing any corrosion or shorting problems, was a navy nuke electrician for 20 years and have a profound respect for batteries and salt water.)

There is a plastic basket epoxied down in the front hatch and I bungee the battery to the side of the basket… no corrosion problems yet… the front hatch of my Tarpon 160 seals very well and even though I had a lot of water sloshing over the front of my boat before I have yet to get any water inside the hull… and Yes the battery is rechargeable…

Nod, front of my Revo seals well too, till I turtled the other day, then a little water leaked in somewhere.
Course I turtled first time I was sailing, nothing I plan to make a habit of.
Sounds like a good reliable option Nikon, possibly much better than stringing 10 AA’s together, thought the AA’s weigh less than 4# probably. Still, bet a longer life on a combo gps/ff too

Can someone please post pics of setups? Do you guys use fish finders and if so do you run those off the same batteries. I have been seriously looking for a set up, but i have very little knowledge in the tech department.
The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. </font id=“size2”>
Here is one complete “kit” with instructions and pictures

Of course you can do it yourself with whatever parts you want.
