A born + raised SC old timer resident gave me this recipe ? he said they are really good
RECIPE FOR BAKING SHAD
Line the pan with aluminum foil ?
Squeeze lemon juice all over the fish, inside and out
Slice an onion and put in and on the fish
Apply salt and the seasoning of your choice (we like Mrs. Dash)
Set the oven at 250 degrees and bake for 4 to 5 hours, depending on the size of the fish
The bones will either dissolve or get soft enough to eat.
Photo end of Feb Last year
NOTE - Lots of fun to catch but didn’t taste very good to me
