…for trailer breakage.
Well, I didn’t hurt my perfect record of not catching a striper on Wateree. Been 5 times and have yet to get a bite. My brother in law did get about a 12" striper while casting crappie jigs around a dock. I don’t think I am going to take my boat back to Wateree for fishing anymore when I go camping. Just for waterports. that lake is too shallow, and I just don’t know how to fish it.
On to the trailer. I broke the trailer jack wheel, broke the welds on my fender loose, bent the spring eye mount down 3 inches, and bent a rim. Goodtimes, looks like I will be doing trailer repairs during the winter.
Most of the trailer items happened while I was traveling up to Cedar Creek for bait. Evidently, Lancaster County doesn’t feel the need to keep their roads maintained. Right when it changed from Kershaw County the road went from smooth asphalt to pot hole city. Hit a hole and bent the rim, broke the fender, and bent the spring eye mount. Spent 2 hours changing the tire and getting bait.

And I thought I had a bad day when I had to go swimming after my boat last evening. Put in at an awful ramp…went to back the trailer down a little bit, fell off the end of the ramp and the boat went sliding off the trailer…water wasn’t bad actually once i got in…I think my ff was showing about 71 yesterday
Sounds like a job for Happy Bob…and if not, I’m sure he probably knows someone

They make some good galvanizing paint, basically has zinc in it. Wesco Trailer is in West Columbia, they could probably do the repairs if you don’t want to do them yourself.

Geronimo it sounds like you had a great day.
I can’t help you with the bent rim, but I can probably weld your fender and very possibly straighten out the spring mount. I think I’ve got some galvanized spray paint to touch it up with. If not, I can get some from Lowes. The job would be easier if the boat is off of the trailer. Wesco trailers in Cayce/W. Columbia does good work, but I’m not sure of their labor rate.
Striperskiff, did you ever get that swim ladder put on your boat?

I’ll give you a call soon Bob. The parts that need fixed can actually be removed from the trailer. The spring eye, slip, and fender are all mounted on one channel, and then that is u bolted onto the trailer frame. Once I get a chance to jack it up, and remove the assembly i’ll get in touch with you.
Thanks,
