Caught my first red fish today. I’ve been at it for about a month now but I got one. It was only 12 inches. I released it but it was great to get one. I was using live shrimp under a poppin cork.
Good for you. I am sure that will be the first of many. Wait to you hook up an over-slot red, you will really be hooked!
Good for you. Caught my first overslot red from a kayak a few years back. I was all alone in the grass on falling tide. It was 31" and man I was so stoked, I couldnt think straight. I did take a camera, just in case, but I ‘protected’ it in a ziplock bag. I took a few shots of it and from that point forward, I didnt give a rats behind about the protection of the camera. I wanted it ready and waiting on the next big hit. Congratulations to you. Red fishing means less time for work and more time for fishing. Go get 'em.
Congratulations,
I remember when I was young and teaching myself how to fish how frustrated I was because all I was catching was pin fish, oyster toads, and crabs. I was really discouraged, almost to the point of giving up, and finally one day something clicked. Just wait until you hook your first monster. It’s something you’ll never forget.
Thanks everyone!
If you are going to fish from a yak, get a waterproof camera.
Wahhhhoooo congrats bro
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. -Wayne Gretsky
