Reds were feeding really well on Saturday low tide, found a nice creek and waited till low tide and found them going crazy on schools of finger mullet. Sadly I had to cut my trip short due to getting sick from the heat, had to make a mental note to bring more water next time. Anyways here is a little video of some of the fish that were caught.

Enjoyed that video. have a GP3 and not quite jazzy enuff to get it set up right. But after watching this segment its time to put it in gear. Some nice reds and sweet action.

I have to figure out how to get our Go-pro mounted. Looks like the hands-free setup is the only way to go. I had also considered a head mount.
Either way. Loved the video. I still haven’t hooked a red in a kayak and it looks to be quite an experience.
Feel free to PM me if you have room on another trip.

@flyinghigh I have found that it’s best to wear long sleeve and pants when fishing to keep from looking like a raw steak at the end of the day.

Since you mentioned it, I’ll give you some comments. It’s not your editing at the moment, it’s the footage. I’m not sure if your partner was fishing too but if your goal is to get some good footage it turns out 100% better when someone else can film you. I’ll be the first to saw it sucks being behind the camera though.
So next piece of advice is raise that angle up a bit. That is an unflattering angle on anyone. Look at people that are filmed, the camera is at eye level or a little higher looking down. Here’s a pro tip… tilt your face slightly down and look slightly up at the camera. Your mama will tell you how handsome you look.
Next, ditch that angle if at all possible. Aim the camera out and let us see some structure, the bite, the fight, whatev. A selfie should be a picture not a movie. Use that angle when you’re paddling and speaking to the camera aka your audience. Script it if you want it to be good. Not line for line but talk about the weather, the bait, the boat, the rig and anything new you’re doing/using. If you’re anchored, mount your camera to a pole and stick it securely in the mud behind you. It will provide a nice shot and you’ll be hands free.
Get a couple batteries and a big memory card.
Filming yourself sucks the fun out of whatever you may be doing.
@surf or fish, thanks bud! I’ll keep all of that in mind, glad someone had some constructive criticism. Outside opinions are always great to hear.

You got it man, I’d trade a little video advice for fishing advice any day.

Iono - I’ve been fishing here for nearly 30 years wearing shorts and t-shirts unless it’s winter. A tube of SPF 50 works miracles ;).
MGMorden, I’m just to cheap to buy sunscreen haha. I look at it this way, if I pay $30 for a shirt and use it for a few years then I saved money from not buying sunscreen all summer… Well so I lead myself to believe!
