Bought a 300 yd spool at Sports Authority for $24.Rigged all 4 of my Quantum 10 with the 6/20 PP.Went to my dock and threw a 1/16oz grub rig and it went across the creek into the grass.Got it back just fine I had 8/30 on the reels before and never cast the grub that far.The 6/20 Red PP is pretty slick.I filled 4 reels and I have enough for at least 2 more reels. The 6/20 seems to cast a lot better then the old 8/30 the line is new or they had to change something in the design.Box said it’s rounder??? I know its a step down in line design but the casting was a big surprise.
I like my 20# PP a lot more than 30. It also softens a bit after it gets wet a few times and casting gets even better.

How long of a leader are you tying? Does the knot ever catch in the rod tip?
I agree on the 20lb over the 30lb for better casting. I generally fish for reds and trout in creeks or ICW, and I don’t think I’ve ever needed more than 20lb anyway. I love my power pro, but tried something new recently. I can’t say for sure b/c I didn’t save the spool but I believe it is spiderwire ultracast. I put some 15-20lb on this spring for bass fishing because I couldn’t find power pro here in columbia. It seemed more limp than the stiffer power pro(insert random dick joke here), and I thought it casted a little better. I haven’t battled any big reds yet to see how tough it is, though.
As for the red colored line, I never buy the stuff just on principle. Their commercials about the line dissapearing are so full of crap that it makes me laugh. Nothing wrong with using it if that’s what you like to fish with, I’m just weird like that I guess. I don’t know how much the color of the line matters anyway. I used to go with green for better camo, but I always use a leader so I switched to yellow. This makes it much easier for me to see. I just tie on a couple feet of 20lb mono or flouro with a uni to uni knot and that has worked for me. Well after dragging you a little off topic, I haven’t tried the new pp yet but will on my next respool. Good price on that line, Stonoman.

Red was all they had in the 20lb section.Going to the Airbase Thursday and see what they have.Used it off the dock and no catches today for about 30 minutes. Casts just fine for my needs.I use 10 pound leader with a uni to uni.Short Bimini is on all my spools.

I guess alot of people must like it, Stonoman, because I seem to see less and less other colors around. Sports authority yesterday in columbia had nothing but red. That place has a terrible fishing section, btw.
