Sorry for the late post. Headed out on the Red Sea Fox since my ride back out at the last minute (i’m not complaining now!). Running late because of a wedding reception the night before with Crown Royal. Left at five-thirty, ran straight out in good seas drop lines shortly after seven in 300’. Pick at a couple cudas and p-nuts in the morning. But then the daymaker came along when I had to help one of the crew get the rod out of the t-top. This fish was well hooked! Somehow he managed to bump the reel into free spool, it locked down in one of the worst bird’s nest I’ve ever seen. With him holding the rod, I managed to get a couple of wraps back enough to contain the nest before the line broke. Ended up bringing the boats first sail along side for a healthy release. No we did not bring it onboard to photo, we know better! Thanks to Scott at Haddrels for the expertly rigged lure that caught and held this sail. Great day overall with a nice 35 knot ride back in. Thanks again Will for letting me tag along. Oh, and to the yellow boat that needed some beers on our way in. Anytime!!!
