Red Snapper article in paper today

All interested fishermen should read this! On the editorial page in section A.

article hell, it was an editorial that our paper decided to publish. Written by a professional lobbyist (google it) who seems to be an professional advocate for many enviromental causes particularly in Florida.
I hope the paper sees a flood of letters from us, the pissed off fisherman of the area. Mail her a fish head. Send Braswell your pictures of nice snapper for the Sunday outdoors page.

I predict the Sept SAMFC meetings in Chas will turn into town hall meetings. This article will help our cause by getting more folks involved.Much as the healthcare debate has gone for Barak Hussein Obama. If you like to fish in the ocean, you’d better show up and be heard NOW or don’t gripe next year when you’re not allowed to go anymore. The Pew people only want to stop fishing,…period. All that hogwash about being able to harvest more in the future is BS!They NEVER plan to let us fish again once they get it shut down.

There are a lot of interested folks that don’t live in the Charleston vicinity, including myself. Do you have a link?

Just keep sitting around thinking there’s no way our fishing can be closed down. Just keep thinking the Federal government will do right by you.

The author of the editorial shares the same attitudes and mindset as the people in charge of NOAA and NMFS, the agencies in charge of managing our ocean. The Obama administration is also planning on creating a large umbrella type ocean management agency to coordinate all the other agencies and start zoning the ocean like land use is zoned by local government. Can you imagine being zoned by the federal government?

Hello???

Are you motivated to come to the Marriott on Lockwood at 5:30PM on September 16th yet? That’s when SAFMC is having a Q and A session. Guess when the public comment time is on the 17th? 2PM when we’ll all have to take time off from work of course…

Those of us in Columbia will just have to take a half-day off right? Do they want less public involvement/input/criticism/praise or what?!?

Phin…what will showing up at the Marriot on the 16th do? Will we be able to vote on something? Do we need to bring anything?

Thanks.
