so I move from goose creek to Sarasota FL for the better life LOL . after a great time in marathon I still haven’t had a chance to fish here because of the red tide killing everything that swims . you can fish off shore but getting there is a trick. just putting your boat in at the ramp will make you sick from the stench of dead fish. any way just thought I would say hi and warn anyone who was planning on coming here to fish. hopefully it will go away soon its been here for 10 months or so.
Very sad situation in such a normally beautiful location.
I was down there just south of Boca Grande in June. The immediate area we were in wasn’t bad but, several areas just north of us where we planned to do some fishing was already getting hit. Saw lots of small dead fish floating and quite a few large groupers. I can’t imagine how bad it is now.
