Boated 10 or 11 realatively big ones in the Ashley today on bettlespin and slider grubs today. Anyone from s’ville want to try I’m going back tomorrow at Slands bridge after work about 3pm.
Lots of fun on ultra light rigs. Also got a crappie and gar.
I haven’t fished Slands Bridge in many years. I can’t go tomorrow but might be able to get an afternoon trip in maybe next week…
lemme know. I might go back Wed.(when its hotter), thursday have to pack for trip to Edisto.
I live n Summerville and have often thought about putting in my yak there to fish. Whats usually caught there and how far can you go that is accessible? I’d be interested in meeting up one day to go.
Where is Slands Bridge?

I was in Summerville late last week, so I stopped by Slands Bridge and looked around. I hadn’t fished there since the early 80’s. It has changed quite a bit…I recall it being more open at the trail going down to the water, and you could fish right there along the trail-side of the bridge on the bank. Now it seems the more open-area is on the far side under the bridge. Needless to say, I don’t think I’m going to be taking the Pro Angler down there to fish unless I bring a winch along to pull it back up the hill.
