Redfish on the flats

So who’s taking me fishing for some slot Reds?lol

Usually getting on some flats (like what you may have seen in some pics or videos) requires a boat to get too. Chances are, if there’s a good flat or two in this town that isn’t accessible by boat then it’s overfished. I believe you would have a much better luck trying to get into the surf fishing game which can be pretty profitable this time of year for big reds if your looking in the right spots. The breadcrumb starts with the grillage, do some research and see how you can get close to fishing that spot and you’ll be happy but bring some good gear (5000 reel or greater, carolina rig with 3-4 ounces weight, 5’ leader of 50lb mono, with 5"+ live bait). If and when you get one, get it back in the water quick not dragging it over the beach everywhere.

Another thing, wear shoes with tall socks or invest in some wading boots.

I was being serious with my question. I don’t mind showing a young person what to do if they are passionate about fishing.

this talk of soliciting young men to fish with you, then Bart - makes me uncomfortable.

Lawman was right - bunch of rumprangers

Settle down, Pod. Dangit, where’s D-Free when you need him?
