Redfish Parasites

Everytime I fish a certain dock on this creek I always pull up at least one redfish with this parasite. They’ll have 1-3 and in varying loctions. What is it and why do they have it?

Also caught one with this on the tail

14’ Skiff-“Redfish Reaper”

The first is an Anchor Worm. The second would be an Isopod, “fish lice”. Both are vurtually harmless, in minimal numbers. Though there are some Isopods that can be preditory. I am sure the one you have pictured is harmless to fish.

Also known as democrats.

Sorry, couldn’t resist.
