Anyone have good recommendation(s) on tactics for catching reds right now? I’ve primarily been fishing the upper Wando without much luck. Have tried everything… Artificials, mud minnows, incoming tides, out going tides, shallow mud flats, creek mouths… you name it. I don’t mind spending time on the water learning the area and trying to figure things out, but so far all my efforts have only yielded two reds that I happened to see chasing bait on a mud bank that feel for a gulp shrimp I pitched to them…
Any pointers are appreciated…

yes. move. cast a soft plastic to points and creekmouths and docks. vary retrieve, slow, fast, hops and stops, dead stick. cover the spot. then move. 10 min, no bite, move. you’ll figure it out. there are already some 50+ fish schools bunched up. once you find em, the action can be fast.
Fish a rod on the bottom while you are casting. Cut mullet or mud. Let Rodney do the work. Work it like pea mentioned. I like to,wait a little longer in a place but to each his own before you pick up and move. I am also a big fan of pro cure. It improves you chances on Artie’s. Crabbers are still there so buy some crabs. Killer bait for all seasons. Pop the top off, pull the legs off and break in half. Put on the bottom.
