10/13 grabbed and released a nice over slot red early AM. As usual was a comedy show as I did not have the net unpacked etc. scrambled from the front of the boat where i was throwing a zman to grab the dead stick out of the holder. (**() near tripped myself into the water. [:I]
10/20 Went out early morning in the upper wando. Messed around at the dock for 30 min as motor was not peeing but temp gauge fine. unscrewed flush tee while running and get a great stream of water so maybe a clog somewhere? Changed plan to stick close and watch things, leaned hard on the trolling motor. Lost a decent red at the boat then headed in and all of a sudden motor is peeing fine. Back in time to beat the wind. Went out last night for some bank fishing and managed a nice 29" red. Took the pic and dropped him back in. Swam away strong.
Another great way is to blow air backwards through the pisser with your air compressor limited to about 30 psi. That usually does the job for good for me.

Thanks for the unclogging tips, will definitely add some heavy mono to the on-board tool kit. Went out again last night for about an hour just after high tide. Managed to lose a nice trout on a pink z-man shrimp / eyestrike combo as I was trying to net him. A little while later this top slot red hit my frozen shrimp behind a popper. Water was fairly clear for the outbound tide and there was a lot of action going on around me, could hear reds feeding and tons of bait everywhere. Feels like its going to be a really good fall for sure.
