Hey y’all, fished for a few hours the other day in the evening to avoid the crowds, last two hours of high and first hour of low. Caught a pretty 28 1/2" red on a carolina rig with a large live menhaden, was targeting sheepshead with fiddlers on the other side of the boat and had a few bites but no hook ups?Nice sunset back at the landing. See you on the water!
Funny, as an old married guy the first thing I thought about were Redhead ducks. Was expecting to see a raft of them in one of the bays. Nice catch and pics.
Nice pics and great memories. I am also a fan of the wright and mcgill rod. I have the 7’6 rod paired with a battle 4000 and thats the rod I use the most. Sensitive and but strong and casting distance is great.
“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
How do you like your Wright & McGill rod? Just curious…
Earn it everyday…
I love the flats blue rod. I’m a big fan of the Mogan Man, Blair Wiggins. If you don’t know who he is watch his YouTube channel and you will be too. It’s a 7’2" bait caster rod paired with a Shimano Curado bait cast reel, can’t remember the series but they are all very small and light, perfect for holding in your hands for a long day fishing. 15lb Spider Wire Invisibraid that I am also very happy with. I can’t see it in the water but when I cast its seems easily visible in the light out of the water, almost like a long string of dental floss. The rod is very flexible and sensitive, but I can’t cast the Curado as far as my spinning reels. Also, the rod looks friggin amazing…
