Lovely weekend on the water if you got out early and took advantage of the spring tides. Saw many reds tailing/trolling through the grass and was able to grab a few. This 34" red isn’t a monster but fought like he was 50" on the lightweight gear as I was fishing the flats. Got some bites on artificial shrimp, most on live bait, couldn’t get anything to go for the fresh quartered crab. However, they ate it up last week…go figure. Only tip: if you think your throwing your bait to close to where the water meets the dry land, throw it even closer. It’s scary how many of these fish were trolling right on the waterline.
that’s a big head on that thing

Majority were caught early am (approx. 0700). Saw others that I sight casted to and caught but not this one, was just lucky enough to drop it in his path.
