They say the 1st step in solving a problem is admitting you have a problem. Well, I have a problem. When I was driving on the James Island Connector this morning I looked over at the way high tide in the grass on the flat. I started looking carefully, hoping to see some tailing reds. I came to my senses just in time to narrowly avoid rear ending the slow moving car in front of me.

I become mesmerized every time I come down there and drive withing sight of the water. Something us inlanders don’t get to see everyday.

I do the same thing. Like to have come to a dead stop on the IOP connector the other day.

Thats almost as bad as driving down the road and all you can think of is what stuff on the side of the road would fish like if it was underwater.

It’s good to know I am not the only one with this problem!! JI connector has nearly cost me my car, job, life and marriage!!! It was the worst while i was in the process of buying my first boat. I have now admitted publicly “I have a problem!” Dont know what step 2 is though!

Would like to know this myself. With this cool weather, I wonder if the tailing days in the grass have ended. Only saw 1 fish the last 2 times I waded during the flood tide.
I took my son out Saturday morning on the 7.2 and we saw about 10 tails. We pulled the hook on the 2 we were able to get close too. They were killing the gulp crab.

But generally October is when they stop tailing in my experience.

10 tails with 2 takes…I’d take that! Would love to get out one more time to walk a flat with the long rod.
I have a similar problem when I drive across the bridge from downtown to Mount Pleasant when the weather is nice.

My dad is in town this weekend so we will be on the water. Let me know if you see any good tides after that and we will try to go. I didn’t wade the other day. I used the trolling motor, (which finally works!), because the tide was so high.
