Hey guys! First post of any worth here. The wife and I were getting tired of trout and crabs for dinner so I promised her some redfish. I live over on john’s island and fish out of limehouse most of the time but fished up the Cooper on Saturday and made good on my promise.
We caught four slot reds and about 10 catfish. Reds were along and in grass lines. I was purposely hanging my cork with mud minnow in an outcropping of grass. Could tell when a bite was coming by watching for movement of the leaves around the cork. Lots of mullet jumping and even had a gator chase our corks around. Also got fish on shrimp on bottom and vudu shrimp.
Switched locales on Sunday and got a red and a flounder over by folly fishing shallow structure with minnows.
Rising tide both days. Water Temps 74-75 degrees. Bud light and modelo with peanuts on Saturday and bell’s Oberon and a Hardee’s bacon egg and cheese on Sunday.
Y’all have fun!
Mike
