Reds on Teusday

I met my friend Brian to chase a few tails after work this afternoon. He has orders to Okinawa and will be leaving soon, so I wanted to get him out and into some fish. We saw a few fish, and we ended up each landing 1. I lost one other. It was a great day for it in Beaufort, I think that is the best I have seen the wind this year. here are a few pictures.

Beautiful day for the fly rod. Nice pictures, John.

Well done! You’re a good friend!

Ya’ll got some gear now. Never thought about using a stripping basket for wade sessions. Makes sense but then you can’t do the flats dance when trying to clear line after a strike.

great pictures man. We had some nasty wind up here.

You guys make me feel under-prepared. I usually just take a small box of flies, nail clippers and an extra leader in my pocket!

I fish some flats that it is over a mile of walking to get out to. I have found that carrying a small pack, a stripping basket, a lipper, and some water make for a better experience. I went out again on Wednesday and broke one off and caught a 23.5 and a 17 inch fish.
