I bought mine at Haddrell’s Point. I think it was less than $100. I really don’t remember, I spent about $600 that day on some new gear and bait as well.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Got one for $35 from west marine. It’s just a steel tube and rebar. You use them when you wouldn’t dare use a normal anchor so they are lost more frequently but are thankfully cheaper.

If you purchase homemade reef anchors make sure they have 2 shackle points. One on the bottom and one on the top.

Shackle the chain to the bottom of the anchor then run the chain up the side and zip tie the chain to the top shackle point. Leave a little slack in the chain.

Now when it gets hung up badly, a hard tug will break the zip ties and flip the anchor over pulling it up backwards.

Your out a couple zip ties instead of a whole anchor.

There are other options to rebar/bendable type reef anchors.

When I did a lot of near shore reef fishing I use the set up above and never lost another anchor. Just another option for a anchor setup that seems to work pretty good.
