Reef Fishing on Saturday

Fished Capers Reef yesterday with 5 anglers. We managed to catch 205 fish with at least 190 of them being BSB. 2 of those made it back to the dock with me for lunch. Very few Sheepshead caught. The ride out was slow but coming home we made good time.
We were the only boat out there until a brand new Sportsman pulled up and anchored on top of us. Amazes me that an artificial reef with plenty of structure spread out all around but people can only concentrate on one piece of it. I just pulled my anchor and moved away from them. I doubt they even had a clue what they did and why it wasn’t cool. People on the water are getting more and more clueless with each passing summer.

I doubt they were clueless; they probably saw how many fish you were catching and wanted in on the action.

Yes, reefs are large, but as you know fritz, there are MANY ‘dead’ spots too.

“The big one’s still swimming, let’s go.”

Common courtesy isnt so common anymore. Some folks hunt fish, some hunt other fisherman.

If you want two words…new money.

If you want one word…rednecks.

Next time you come in, come heavy, or not at all…

where’s the nearshore forum smartass

Doesn’t Inshore mean ‘inside shore’???

Offshore means ‘off the shore’; I don’t expect to find Nearshore reports in the Inshore forum, just like inshore boats are not intended to be used Nearshore under ‘normal conditions’.

Also, DNR considers us ‘offshore’ as soon as we leave the Inlet, or shore.

Tigerfin, That is hilarious.

10% of the people catch 90% of the fish.

tell them to watchout… theres lots of skip-weights around

Dang that makes me hungry.

what kind of breading do you use, that looks tasty!

Whatever the deli had. I cleaned the fish and cut it into nuggets and sent it up to them. 5 minutes later and I’m eating it.

Ha! Because trust fund babies who inherit "old money" and never had to work for it are smarter and more courteous than people who had to work for "new money"? Please, tell me another one!!! Ever think about doing stand up?

Maybe they knew it was fritz, people like to copy the greats.
