Targeting our nearshore reefs lately has been a blessing. The cobia and kings are out and about and willing to take some drag. Ive had some pretty simple setups lately when targeting the reefs. Ive been sight casting to cobia and spadefish while free lining some menhaden off the back. Setting up on the the upcurrent sides of the reef. While not trolling for kings doesn’t produce as many numbers, its fun to look back and seeing one smoke a free line off the back every 30 minutes or so. Make some time to get out and enjoy what our nearshore reefs have to offer this time of year… you won’t be dissappointed!
Helpful post. Thanks.

How far offshore is the 60 reef?

Are Cobia in season or did they close it for SC this year?
Cobia are in season. See SCDNR for rules and regs. Tight lines!

Very nice…thanks. I am assuming by the chart you are referring specifically to the 60…anyone seeing any action at the nearshore reefs?
