Has is gone to a paid subscription? I can log on and get forecasts on my computer but on my phone it’s asking for a paid subscription. Anyone else getting this issue?
It has always been that way for me, but I recently paid for the mobile app, mainly just to support the service provided.
Yep, noticed it Sunday.

I don’t know if it’s the same thing…but I get reef cast from SaltwaterCentral.com for free.
It called Saturday spot on…OK in the morning, nasty after 12pm. Reading reports…sounds like it was right.

You are not alone. The want $ for my iPhone access. I haven’t tried my desktop computer yet. I’ll probably pay the money since I’ve been using it for so many years for nothing. It’s usually the first thing I check and has never been way off like SailFlow, etc.

I was able to get into it on Salterwater Central on my desktop through a back door they haven’t closed up yet. At the Saltwater Center homepage click on Weather Center, scroll down to reefcast weather and click on choose your reef cast location. I had to do it twice to bring up the map. Then you can pick your spot and it will stay default until you pick another one. I doubt this door will remain open long.

From the Reefcast Admin/Founder:
"Guys this was announced almost a month ago.
Reefcast is NOT a rehash of the NWS or the wave watch III model. This is a model that was created maintained and run by this site and me. SeaCast is another model created, maintained and run by me.
There was also a notice at the top of reefcast that gave everyone FREE access for 2 weeks after we announced it.
I was late turning off the free access…
These things cost a ton to develop, maintain and operate. If 2 bucks a month breaks your bank…made you are in the wrong sport.
Use whatever you like. The world is changing. We will continue to develop useful tools for offshore fishing. It is my passion…and I do not foresee that changing.
MaPerry, Call me at the number in my signature tomorrow evening and I will fix whatever is not working for you. I have been fishing everyday and doing maps all night. I get a little busy sometimes and it is hard to keep up.

99% if the time Reefcast and SailFlow have the exact same forecast. If they differ it is going to be an average between NOAA and SailFlow. If I’m paying for a subscription, I’ll buy Buoyweather. I wish him luck in his endeavor but there are too many free sites to pull from.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Happened to me Sunday. Immediately paid the subscription. Have been using it for many years and not sure I can manage without. Plus its like 30 minutes of fuel so in the grand scheme no big deal.
Well…it won’t work on my Samsung…still up on my computer. I guess it’s a matter of time…

Not really an issue with the price. However, since we all use several weather forecasting sites, where do you draw the line when they all get onboard with charging a fee?

Yep, noticed that a couple days ago. I may end up paying just because I really like that one.

I’d pay for a service if it offered something different than the free sites. Reefcast can say they’re using a different model but, I check about 5 sources and they’re no different than the rest on most days. Heck when 2-3 of the 5 differ is when I get worried. We’re I to pay it’d be Buoyweather, SailFlow then Reefcast.
