What’s the rig for the black sea bass.
I tried the them this week at the reef with carolina style rig on the bottom and mid depth. Squid and finger mullet small hook. Nothing! What’s the deal?
Use a double dropper rig on the bottom. I use 4/O hooks. They bite anything.
the rig you were using is just fine.
in my experience, only fish mid-depth when there are tons of short fish- the larger, more aggressive ones will come further off the bottom to eat.
have to use circle hooks when using natural baits.
If they’re biting then I use the double dropper rig as mentioned above. Barbawang is right on with the circle hooks. They WILL bight anything when they’re hungry, I caught one on a hotdog chunk once!
