First off do not buy a penn battle it will last a year tops. But I digress. I have a stradic 5000fj that I stupidly decided to take apart and do a yearly service, its a lot harder to take apart than the older models. Long story short I ended up taking out the anti- reverse clutch assembly and screwed it up. Now the part is backordered until december!! I know its a long stretch but anybody ever fixed the anti-reverse clutch assembly? The bearings will not stay in the assembly any longer. And yes, I checked with Haddrell’s.

You could try getting in touch with Dan Isaac out in California at Reelex. I don’t have his number on me but his email is reelex@hotmail.com
Dan used to work for Shimano and now repairs shimanos. He may have the part but if not he may be able to get it faster. I sent a baitcaster to him a year or so ago and he found a part that had been discontinued. Total cleaning and part was only 30 bucks plus shipping.
Fishcrazy I can?t help you with the Shimano but PM me with your issues on the Battle, we can work something out. No manufacture makes a bullet proof reel and eventually you will have something wear out on any brand reel you buy. We have plenty of parts on hand so hit me up.

I’m starting to have the same opinion about the battle reels. Ive had a battle 3000 for about 3 months tops now. I give it a light clean water rinse every time i have used it (at least 20 times) and it is already starting to stick at the top of my rotation. Its a very light stick but it Drives me NUTS when my reels do that. I mostly kayak fish so it has hit the water a few times, but I immediately take home and rinse/oil. It could just be me, but I try my hardest to keep it clean. Idk what I am doing wrong
All fishermen are liers except me and you and I’m not sure about you.
Have you opened the reel up to see if it needs some grease? I haven’t heard of a sticking issue before but if you do not have enough grease on the oscillation block and main shaft it could cause some friction. We have seen cases where you can actually push water and salt into the reel with the pressure from a water hose and that mixture can cause a gumming effect on some parts. Your reel is under warranty so if you need to send it in please do so. PM me if you need some help. Thanks

Ive had my Penn Battle 4000’s for about 2 years now? Maybe 1 year. But anyways, everytime I am done fishing, I rinse it off for about a few mins and oil them here and there. Nothing wrong so far. I havent had any issues with them but maybe I just good luck for once.
My advice is use the Penn oil after reels have dried. Works great for me.
I would fill out a reel repair request form, send it to shimano, and let them do it.

When you buy a new reel any brand open it up and pack it with the best lube available.I have reels 12 years old that work perfect.
Stonoman
try dunking the Stradic. You will do it no favors.

What kind of lube do you use on your reals stonoman? I’ve been using real butter and it doesn’t seem to work all that well.
