Are there any reel repair in the Summerville area?
I live in Goose Creek and don’t really know of any retail repair shops on this side of town. I know Haddrells does it. Lots of decent places on line. I do my own and some of my friends. What type of reel and what is wrong with it?

The release spool lever is not catching a gear or something. The spool lever doesn’t lock back in place. It’s a Penn 555.
Listed a couple of decent tutorials for a 545 and a 525, yours should be very similar, just larger. Sounds like something may be going on with the eccentric and or spring. Not hard to work on, look at the tutorials, schematics are available at Scotts tackle web site free of charge. Open it up and take a peek.
