Reel Repair -old Penn 430ss

I’m trying to breath new life into an old friend. My Penn spinning reel has a main gear that has lost some teeth and the gear replacement has been discontinued. I’m open to any suggestions…I’ve been searching the web for a replacement part with no luck yet short of buying another whole reel at collectable prices. Anyone know of a reputable repair shop?

Hadrell’s

Ya know, it must be nice living in Neverneverland. Remind me to come visit you, when I need a break from reality.

If you can’t find what you need locally, try this guy. He is a friend and does great work.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

Go see Steve upstairs in Haddrell’s Mount Pleasant. He had a bunch of old stuff the last time I was in there. He knows that stuff and if he can’t fix it for you, he’ll point you in the right direction

Those older penn gears are hard to come by. Good luck though!

Check with the members on the Alan Tani website. They have helped me out in the past. Quite a collection of Penn gurus.

I just called, they do have the main gear in stock. (609) 296-1300

I have used them in the past.

Is this the part? $17.35

I tried several sites last week looking for a part for an old Shimano Stella. They had one in stock.

Wow. Thanks for going the extra mile and actually doing a search for me. I’ll giv’em a try.
