Left out of shem creek at 4am. Headed south. Lines in the water at 7am. Water temp 72 at 200ft. Wahoo on at 9:15. Monster. Greeted at noon with a Sail Fish at about 250ft. Trolled north and hit another monster wahoo back at 200 ft depth(lost at gaff).
Same fish, but my personal favorite picture. Imagine that

Wahoo weighed in at Haddrell’s the following day. 58 lb 13 oz. Sure did look, and feel, a lot bigger…
I guess that’s why they say not to weigh your fish in… If it hadn’t been weight in, I would’ve sworn it was an 80 lb wahoo

It was my first time trolling - thank you to Reel Screamer crew and captain for having me aboard!
Honestly, I don’t remember how long it took to get fish into boat after it was hooked. It hit the line closest to the boat so not too long. It was a true team effort to catch that fish, a true team effort to catch every fish, completely different than anything I had previously experienced fishing. Fish sure are a lot bigger 75 miles offshore… Prior to this trip, biggest fish I had ever caught, 15 lbs (and I didn’t weigh it in LOL).
Big wahoo… sailfish… looks like it is good luck to have a female aboard! That being said, I’d love to go again, so if anyone has room for me on an offshore trip, let me know.
