Release Clips

Bought some Taco Goldlines but am not sure that I really like them. The tension adjustment looks a little hokey and weak. Anyone have positives or negatives about them? What about Rupp Knock-outs? Other opinions?

Also I’ve always used a snap swivel on the ends so that if a clip broke it could easily be replaced, the Taco clips say this is a no no, crimp straight to the release, but if it breaks then you have to rerig the entire system, right?

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I use and like the Rupp’s. I crimp right to the clips, but, if for some reason, I need to swap them out, I can just take the ends off. Then, you can just put a replacement in without having to rerig. I have never had a problem with the Rupp’s except the tension bolts/screws being too loose when new. My last set, I just used teflon tape on the bolts/screws. After a couple of trip, the salt stiffens them up a bit…

Blacks are good,run line thru,then crimp.much cleaner.

I just returned the taco kit…it was horrible. the clips, swivels were cheap. I could not keep the line in the taco clip with just a ilander and ballyhoo. Very fustrating.I went with the Rupp nok outs and the hal lock pulley and Moi Moi 400lb mono. Iam going to rig them on friday.

The taco kit is trash
