Reliability of Late 90's/early 00's Johnson 35??

ANybody have any thing good or bad to say about these motors? All of my duck boats in the past have been Merc or Yamaha…have run across a couple of War Eagles that have the 35/40 horse OMC engines on them. Nothing will replace my 3 cyl Yamaha 30 tiller, but am looking for a 15/16 jon boat to leave at the lake house.

Chris any thoughts on these as you have seen them coming in and out of your shop?

I don’t have any experience with a 35, but I’ve got a 25 Johnson (2 cyl)(2000). Just rinse it off after use, changed the water pump once, and it starts on the second pull, every time. Never had a problem. Isn’t the 35 a 3 cyl?

I have a 96 J 25 2 cyl. I bought new that’s been great. </font id=“blue”>

most of the carbed johnson evinrudes were very reliable. That would be a solid motor IMO
