Remley Ramp - Beware Center lane @ Low Tide

Got some good info from local shops about a rock or piece of steel off the end of the center lane. Several letters and calls over the years to DRN hasn’t even motivated them to as much as post a warning. Maybe acknowledging it would not be in their favor.

Too bad my reciept of the info came after dinging a blade.

Low tide loading up and not trimming up enough on that lane sure dug into the wallet.

Its a county park issue not DNR

that thing is still there? f-d up my prop on it… about 12 years ago!

Apology to DNR / CCParks.
Folks @ Skips took a look at it and instantly said it was casting / stress crack related. The other blades would have been rolled some if I hit something. (my lack of experience there I guess)
Didn’t make my wallet feel any better.
Need to now include a close look at all the blades each washing.

But is there something in the water off center lane. I see people using it all the time? If so,about how far back?

I had a blade on a stainless prop ‘drop off.’ I thought I had hit something as well. Took it to the dealer where I purchased the boat and they said too bad - I needed to buy a new one. I called BS and called the actual manufacturer. They said their props came with a lifetime warranty and to mail it to them and if it was a structural problem, they would send me a new prop - and they did.

Lack of any marks on the remaining 3 blades shows that an impact probably didn’t happen. If a spinning prop hit something, it’s gonna get all the blades.

You can look at the metal and look for “beach marks” as signs of fatigue or defect…

I’ve seen props, drive gears and prop and drive shafts fail due to metal fatigue and beach marks were present.

I have a nice fitted box it’ll fit in to mail out to Suzuki.
I’ll let ya’ll know how it works out.

You need to call the prop manufacturer, not the engine manufacturer. They might require you to have a service number on the box so it gets routed correctly. Look on the prop for the manufacturer, then google them and get the contact information. Then give them a call.

My right back tire looked like someone stabbed it 6 times two trips ago and now I am pretty sure it might be from the center lane. Thanks! Stupid government needs to fix it. They have enough money from all of their revenue generation from fines and property taxes.
