Hey guys, recent hoa nonsense has caused me to store my boat down behind the hospital at a storage place.
Ive loaded at remleys once, typically go out of shem but with all the paddleboard etc that goes on there i’m switching to remleys. I hit a few branches the only time ive gone to the ramp, but i took 17 to the scotchman, not mathis the whole way.
I have a 26.5’ cc with a t top, its pretty (**() tall trailering but not as tall as and some of the other big boats i see trailered. my question is- can i take mathis ferry from the unit to remleys without getting my gps ripped off? i’ve driven it without the boat to take a look but i cant tell if the trees are trimmed high enough or not.
If you take this path and know the height of your boat ill get a tape to see if im under.
Sounds like you’re in the same storage place I am. I take 17, or the frontage road depending on time of day, to the scotchman and hang a right. It has never dawned on me to hang a right on Bowman and take Mathis Ferry the whole way. Just where did you hit branches, on Mathis Ferry between 17 and little cutoff to 5th ave?
i got “lost” the first time. i think i went out towards the yacht club and hit them. but i doubled back and didnt have any trouble on the small length of mathis i was on.
I’ll give Mathis Ferry the whole way a try next time I’m down there. Probably Labor Day. Doubt mine is as tall as yours. I know it’s under 14’, probably 12-12.5’-ish is my guess. Been meaning to drop a tape anyways to find out.
Just watch out for that stoplight in front of the fire station. It will clip your radar dome although last time I saw it happen the light lost and ended up in the street. As for the low trees, use the whole road and your mirrors and watch out for the thick branches hanging low.
Towing a 34 YF, dome radar.
I usually run 17 to MF. New rotary @ NG building is tight.
I’ve run MF and use ALL the asphalt and bricks at those rotaries (designer must drive a Yogo).
Trailer trucks have cleared all the light stuff leaving behind some stout branches that will disconnect an antenna or shear off a Sirrus or GPS stubbie. Sux finding out once in the water.
I won’t do MF if it has rained and lowered down the branches even more.
Seems folks @ Ion got their wish - keep anything bigger than a Lexsux away from their road.
