Hey all, I am trying to book a remote kayaking trip to Alaska to match my trip last year… Last two weeks in July to be precise.
I am looking for 5 other stalwart kayakers, who would be interested in 5 days, and 4 nights catching Halibut, Salmon, Lingcod and Rockfish to your hearts content.
Last year several 44" Lingcod, and numerous +/- 30 lb Halibut were caught and eaten…
The cost would be under $700.00 per person, airfare and fishing license not included.
Cost includes Wilderness System Ride 135 Kayak and equipment rental ($125.00 for the whole time), remote cabin rental ($35.00 a night, split 6 ways), Water Taxi shuttle to and from Hinchenbrook or Montague Islands from Valdez (Prince WIlliam Sound) $1500.00 each way ($500.00 each if six people)…
If anyone is interested, the ONLY thing that would be required, would be the deposit for the Water Taxi, which would be non-refundable, unless of course someone else fills the spot on the boat.
Airfare now is relatively cheap, if you book before April… Right now, flights from Orlando are running $750.00 ish, slightly more from Hotlanta… Last season, the prices dropped in January and February to around $550.00 from Orlando…
You can bring alot of your catch back with you from Alaska, I brought back over 100 lbs of all the above species last year… Flash frozen and shrink wrapped…
I plan on being in the area for two weeks, and camping in Valdez the rest of the time ($25.00 a night). The Pinks and Coho both run this time of year, and you can stock up on fresh or smoked salmon…
