Repairs

Need following two items repaired:

  1. ONKYO home stereo receiver. MOD# TX-SV535. Suddenly just stopped working. Power light does not come on. Did not see an external fuse.

  2. Install an oil pressure sensor switch on a 2003 Chev Tahoe Z71, 5.3L.

Can anyone recommend someone to make repairs, other than dealers. Onkyo repair centers are way too distant and expensive.

Thx!

I can imagine someone installing a car stereo until without a external fuse. There must be one there somewhere. If there is no fuse for sure, you can most likely determine that if you are still getting 12v, that until is trash.

Both are easy to do and would take less than an hour.

Fuse checked and is ok. Would still like recommendations for both repairs. Thanks for your help!

protronics in MP on Bowman RD can tell you if your unit is fixable.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

I believe Protronics is an authorized ONKYO warranty shop. ONKYO are well known worldwide for the HDMI boards going out. Probably what is wrong with yours. I know at one point they had a special dealio set up for AV Receivers with bad HDMI boards b/c it was happening so much.

Checked Gobels and they don’t repair receivers. Protronics went out of business last summer. Looks like I will getting new receiver.
Would still appreciate recommendation for someone to install oil pressure sensor. Thanks.

I used them last winter. Glad it was then… Onkyo discontinued your particular receiver.
