Replacing CD/Radio with marine amplifier

So my ‘waterproof’ radio/enclosure finally fried (2.5 yrs not bad), but instead of replacing with another traditional radio, I have decided I simply want to install a marine amplifier, since all I really want is an auxiliary input for an ipod, and the low profile of the amp vs/ enclosure under my small console (sea pro 1700) will allow for more storage/access.

Has anyone here done this? Here is the amp I’m looking at (only powering 2 small speakers).

Seems fairly simple, I am just concerned about the lack of a power switch on the amp. I had been debating getting a pergo switch for all accessories, but I was wondering if there is an inline switch (or maybe add a switch to my console) that I could work for the new amplifier. Hoping to get a recommendation on that.

Also if anyone has any other tips on amps/mounting/ipod docks etc. let me know!! thanks.

we have done that several times
works great
power from an accesory switch also works well, as long as the load isnt to much.
still suggest a perko, for every boat

Hook up the blue wire from the back of your radio to the remote wire on the amp. The blue wire is very common and is used to send 12volts to a powered antenna (the kind like on old lady cars where the antenna retracts when the radio is turned off). No switch needed for the amp.

Being superstitious is bad luck.
