Replacing Racor fuel filter

Chris V. installed a Racor with clear sight bowl filter on my boat. The motor had a stumble issue this past weekend and I would like to replace the filter. How do I go about this? Do I just unscrew the entire fixture or does the bowl come off first? Can I drain the filter from the bowl before I unscrew it?
With the stock Yammi filter I just slipped a plastic bag around it and unscrewed it but I’m not sure about the Racor.

Thanks

Unscrew the whole thing. once you get it out, dump fuel out and unscrew clear bowl. install clear bowl onto new filter. So you don’t have to squeeze the primer bulb forever, fill the filter with gas before installing filter back onto housing.

I always put a little motor oil on the gasket before reinstalling. Trick used with oiul filters but I never had one leak. Oh and I cun a tin coffee can so that it would catch any gass the split during the un and re screwing process. Hey I can make a mess of anything…

call chris. if it was just installed you shouldnt need a new filter. what do you mean by “stumble issue?”

I agree with Hoppy call Chris. You may only need to drain water from filter by opening drain cock on sight bowl. Age of filter would determine if needs replacing. If you got some bad fuel the filter/separator did its job and you may not be done with fuel issue yet.
