Last Saturday Steverino and I took our boys (both 6 years old) out in the evening about. Picked up bait at lakeworld and got on the water around 7. We were marking big schools like you do in the summer. Fish hit freelines planers and down lines. We caught 20 fish in 2 hours with 13 keepers. Best I’ve done in a while. Big fish was about 30" the rest were 22-24. Kept 4 to cook and let the rest go.
This saturday I went to Davids for bait because it was 6:45 and I didn’t think I’d make Lake world. No bait at Davids and lake world was closed. Went to the new place for some cured $8 per dozen herring. I will say the herring were healthy and clean. I still have them in my tank the the scale catcher is still empty. Fish the same spot and marked fish, but half as many as the week before. We pulled baits for 4 hours and only caught 5 shorts and one keeper. Only one fish hit a planer, none on the freelines. Fish were all around 20 feet and scattered. Other than the moon conditions seemed to be about the same. These pics are all from last week, nothing worthy of a picture this week.
