Been hitting it pretty hard lately fishing for the last couple of hours before (and sometimes a little after) dark. Other than 1 bait trip with Loon, everything has been throwing artificials. Been fishing schools when they are around and blind casting off points in about 20’ when they are not. Catching anywhere from 2 - 6 or 7 most trips, but a couple of skunks thrown in as well. Been doing best last 30 min or so before dark.
Really stepped in it last eve as I had accepted I was in for a skunk and made a last stop at a point that has been producing pretty well. Started blind casting right before dark and after the 3rd or 4th cast, they came up on top trying to jump in the boat. I threw a couple of lifelines to them, helped them aboard and then got another 2 before they vanished. All 4 nice keeper sized fatties.
Continued to blind cast till about 9, but only got 2 shorts.
Also, been picking up some greenies lately in shallow.
Even picked one up off the bank at the dam on the way home from work the other day.
Also, tried one evening throwing around the rocks at the dam from the boat, but no luck. Right at/after dark the bait was thick as could be though in about 30’ right off the rocks.
After seeing that first pic, I believe I will give it a break this evening and wash the boat.
