Report from Oregon Inlet 7/2/09

Fished out of Oregon Inlet/PIRATES COVE MARINA thursday aboard the SAMANNA. Started out slow with a small 15ish lb Yft first to come aboard. The chatter on the radio made us feel more was to come with others hooking up closer to the Point. Found the fish and immediately had a triple hookup. Gaffed one of the three and went looking again. Had a couple more bites but didnt come tight on the fish. Had a quad hookup and one of those was decked. Just couldnt keep a hook in um. 4 YFT’s made the ride home up to about 35 lbs. One small slinger Mahi. Hot colors were green and pink. Most bites were on the flat up close to the boat in prop wash. Capt HUCK HARRIS and his mate Brian were a pleasure to fish with. They worked hard all day to find and keep us on the fish. I would definetly recommend them to others. 1st class operation!
