Restaurant that will cook your catch

Does anyone know of a Charleston restaurant that will cook Mahi that U catch…Thanks.

I think i remember a charter captain’s post mentioning his customers had a portion of their catch prepared at Waters Edge. I’m not sure if this was a special arrangement or standard business for them. Its a place to start at least. Good luck!

good luck! liability is the reason that most won’t. If people get sick, FDA can trace the fish back to the wholesaler, and boat. Most recreational fisherman don’t carry near enough ice offshore, histamines grow very quickly on the skin of tuna, dolphin, and wahoo, causing Scombroid poisoning.

Its been awhile but I thought there was a notice on the menu for bringing your own

We bring plenty of ice but the crappy fish boxes don’t keep it very well. I now keep yetis in the head with plenty of good ice for the ride home.

FINZ on Coleman can cook your fish, I think it costs $7.00. The food and drinks there is awesome! Chad, the owner is a great guy!!!

I was at Waters Edge Friday night for happy hour. A guy brought in a plastic baggie with what looked like dauphin. Later I saw him eating fried dauphin, had to ask what they charged him to cook it, his answer $10.00 per person. Sounded steep to me.

Sells… Not sure about this season, but as of last summer, they would cook up your flounda for you. Was something like $8 or $10, but it came with all of the fixins & sides that their dish would include. Wasn’t on the menu, that I remember, but the servers knew the system & would tell you all about it.

Hopefully, they are still cool with it, this year. It’s a neat option, if you only have 1 or 2 fish & want something fresh, while your boat is tied to the dock. As long as the boaters respect the no-wake zone!

Cheers!
