Are there any in Charleston? I’d rather pay a little extra money per plate knowing that my food is local, and that i’m putting my hard earned money in a locals hands instead of somebody in china.
I would love to know what restaurants buy from Sellsfish!

around every bend theres the promise of a treasure that can only be caught and seen in a blink.. and in your minds eye..and sometimes if youre lucky..in a picture..its there for just a minute...then gone..but hopefully once youve seen it it will remain in your heart forever. Theres nothing like the "Smell" and sounds of the creek. Its not just one thing that makes it familiar..its all of it.
Depends on what your definition of local is. There are No local shrimp, grouper, snapper, sea bass, redfish, etc. here in Charleston for obvious reasons right now. Maybe some local clams, crabs and oysters are all you will find.
I have a very good friend who owns a very popular restaurant in HH and he buys most of his seafood from the gulf region(local distributor). Says its consistent(size of shrimp)and flash frozen so it preserves the flavor. Says he tries to buy off the boat but you never know what you are going to get if you can get anything. This posses a very difficult problem when you’re sitting 200 people a night and all you get is 20 lbs of small/med shrimp.
Im sure Sells can expand or expell this statement better
Gilligan’s makes a concerted effort to serve local although in reality you would not be in business long if all you served was of local origin because supply is severely limited by seasonal closures and allocation issues…

Are you out of your mind???
The only local item at that house of swill is the cluster oysters they get from Mangione in Beafort. They pass off Basa / Panga as “Island fish” and tell people it is groupers cousin. Their grouper and mahi are frozen imports all of thier crabmeat is import.
Some of those places listed made me laugh!
Places that I know use local / domestic and observe truth in menu

Anyone who hasn’t tried Trattoria Lucca is missing out on some of the finest food in Charleston. Love that place.
We had some spectacular blackfin tuna tartare a while back. ULTRA thin slices with a little crushed garlic, chopped onion, olive oil and fresh cracked pepper.

We went to Gilligans in MC last weekend (The Dock) and it was terrible. Sorry
