Retiring to area

I realize this is not about fishing TODAY but I need some help. I am retiring in January and the plan is to relocate to yall’s area. I am close to making an offer on Wadmalaw Island. I really like the area but know little of it. I am looking out around the Rosebank Plantation area. Can any of you tell me is the fishing good in that area, the crime rates, anything that you can tell me to help me “pull the trigger”. I am posting this on other sites so please forgive me if you see it again.

Thanks and I look forward to posting my own fishing reports soon.

You can get a printout on crimes committed in that area during the previous 12 months from the county sheriff’s office. As far as the fish go, my Grand dad always said there is more to the fisherman than there is to the fishing hole.

It is a good area and there is a good landing not far done the road. Not as busy as some and access to the ocean in minutes.

Not many murders are reported there, because there are so many good places to hide bodies…

I work on the island and it is an excellent place to live and relax. It’s laid back and the water is never far away.

Don’t pass up Beaufort, our area has a lot to offer.

Thanks for the replies. I actually made an offer late last week only to find out that the property had already gone under contract. I plan to look at a couple of places over the holiday weekend. I have pretty much decided on the johns Island / Wadmalaw area and am very excited to start the transition to “retirement”. Lord willing i will meet some of you soon.

Thanks again,

Hoss
