I realize this is not about fishing TODAY but I need some help. I am retiring in January and the plan is to relocate to yall’s area. I am close to making an offer on Wadmalaw Island. I really like the area but know little of it. I am looking out around the Rosebank Plantation area. Can any of you tell me is the fishing good in that area, the crime rates, anything that you can tell me to help me “pull the trigger”. I am posting this on other sites so please forgive me if you see it again.
Thanks and I look forward to posting my own fishing reports soon.
Come on down! The Lowcountry is as close to Heaven as you can get on this earth. The creeks around Wadmalaw are full of delicious fish just waiting to be caught, not to mention the shrimp.
I’d recommend you join a fishing club. Meet some folks and get to know the area while enjoying like minded people. SSWA is a bit out of your way but Stono River Fishing Club is right there. Browse around as I think Stonoman has been involved in that club, as well as Penfishin. They might be able to point you in a good direction.
We just had a recent retiree sign up last meeting! Congrats and enjoy your lack of work!
Beautiful country out there! I was looking a property for sale and taking pictures of the entrance off Bears Bluff Road. There was a church service letting out and the first couple of cars that pased all blew their horns and waved, and I’m thinking to my self “What the hell! whats y’all’s problem”??? Then then next 10 to 15 cars either honked the horn or waved, or both. After a while I figured out they were just being nice. Then I’m like "(**(), what kind of screwed up place do I live where I think this is weird? Really makes you think.
Also the boat traffic is very tolerable down that way too.
Have a place on James Island an would like to be down
here all the time. Got things to do in Barnwell for 1 week of each month. for a few more years. then will be there for good.
People are Great an
Stono River Fishing Club is one
place to meet Great People an get great advice on fishing.
Thanks for all the ■■■■■■■■. I made an offer on a place yesterday! I will definitely be joining a fishing club as soon as I get there. I will be 60 in October and Lord willing, whatever time i have remaining will be spent in the garden or on the water. I look forward to meeting yall.
