Rev Limiter Indicator

the Rev Limit light on my 2007 Suzuki DF200 is flashing. It flashes very rapidly, and dimly (so dim, I only noticed it after dark). Also, I can’t see it flashing from the helm, I have to be looking straight at it. The RPM’s are not limited, the motor seems to be running good. I see in the manual some warnings include a constant on, and alarm. I don’t have either of those. Also, the Rev Limit light can flash to indicate engine hours, but this flashing is constant?

Any ideas? I’ve heard moisture can cause this indicator to act screwy.

OK, I’ve got a little more info. My old Lowrance chart plotter/depth finder “died.” Even though this model was discontinued, I found one on eBay. I wanted to use the same connections, and not have to modify my console. The old Lowrance shared a ground with the gauges, so I moved the ground to the grounding bus/bar. Now I lose a bottom signal at speeds >20 mph. I hear that electrical noise can cause this. I noticed this week that the Rev Limit indicator light only flashes when the chart plotter is on. Can these issues be related? Should I move the chart platter ground back to a shared connection with the gauges?
Thanks!

If it is truly stray noise, harmonics or Rf you may be able to use a snap on ferrite to assist with noise blanketing. But moving the ground back to where it was would probably the quicker test to see if that actually is the issue. Check to see if the transducer came loose or has shifted angle at the transom as well.
